07/02/17-00:57
Gilbert Arenas vs. DeShawn Stevenson(Youtube)

''At the end of the day, you're remembered for what you did at the end. . . .
I think that's the reason -- Dirk says they gave us the championship last year, but he's the reason they lost the championship, because he wasn't the leader that he's supposed to be in the closing moments.
That's because of great defense by us, but also he wasn't assertive enough as a leader's supposed to be.''

''It's a guy's opinion, man.
He's won.
He's the champion.
Everyone's trying to dethrone them. ...
When you win, I guess you can say whatever you want to say.''

''You are right, endings are remembered.
And the ending of 3 of the games of the Finals will be remembered alongside Game 6 of the King vs Lakers Conf Finals a few years ago.

I guess you have earned the right to criticize Dirk with an obvious display of your own leadership skills.

I know Shaq appreciates your leadership as well.
He called out your team a few weeks ago saying it was "embarassing'.
Great leadership DWade.

Your coach sat players for being fat.
I guess you couldn't lead them away from the buffet.

You are an amazing player Dwayne.
I love watching you shoot free throws.
What you know about Dirk's leadership skills is non existent.
You don't have a clue.
Your ability to evaluate leadership skills....well you obviously have an overinflated value of your own.
Did you take business classes at Marquette ?

Now we know why Charles won't put you in his 5.''

Pippen、

"I'm not going to be a nonstop high-flyer like I was in my prime.
But I can still run.
I can still dunk.
But most of all, I know the game.

I'm thinking of trying to come back for the playoffs.
Something like the last two months of the season, somewhere I can come back and play limited minutes to start, play point forward for someone and build toward the playoffs.
It's something I've been thinking about for the last three months.

I feel I still have a year and a half of basketball left in me if I'm put in the right situation.
I'd even be willing to sign a 10-day contract.
At least that would be a start.
I just want a chance to show that I can still help a team.''

07/01/30-00:43

"Even if I'm not over the rim dunking like I used to be, I think my production can be the same.
I was fortunate to watch Karl Malone and some other guys as they got older, and they got even harder to check, because now they were always thinking two or three steps ahead."
-Chris Webber.

ウィークリーのパワーランキングはESPN(Marc Stein)やSI.com(Marty Burns)などに掲載されているけれど、デイリーのモノは初めての試み。

"Dikembe Mutombo grew up in Africa, amid great poverty and disease.
He came to Georgetown University on a scholarship to study medicine -- but coach John Thompson got a look at Dikembe and had a different idea.

Dikembe became a star in the NBA, and a citizen of the United States.
But he never forgot the land of his birth -- or the duty to share his blessings with others.

He has built a brand new hospital in his hometown.
A friend has said of this good hearted man: 'Mutombo believes that God has given him this opportunity to do great things.'
And we are proud to call this son of the Congo our fellow American."

06/12/30-03:15
Raja Bell

"And playing poker. That's our team's primary pastime.
We had a day off in Charlotte, and we went pretty hard there. And the games are good and even.
Our best poker players are probably Eddie Johnson, Shawn Marion and Kevin Tucker, but anybody can win at any time.
Trust me. I know because, recently, I've been that "anybody."
This road trip has been a good run for me as far as poker goes.
Last night, actually, was my turn to win.
I can't tell you how much I take home -- that's confidential info -- but I've been told I have a good poker face."

Pat Riley

"Hinrich pulled (Wade)'s hand.
He does it all the time.
That's what he does.
Anytime Dwyane comes off screens, they will always grab his shirt or grab his hands.
It's a tactic down below the body -- the official can't see it.
He had Dwyane's hand, and [when Wade] tried to pull it out of there, I think something happened."

"I can't worry about Pat Riley -- I just have to worry about myself.
He's going to try and do his job, and I'm going to try and do my job.
I can't really comment on what he should be worrying about.

It's unfortunate [Wade] got hurt, but I wasn't trying to hurt him.
I was chasing him off a screen -- then there's contact.
I don't know if he got tangled up or whatever, and he started grabbing his hand."

"He travels on that spin move.
He picks up that pivot foot … everybody knows it.
Dwyane Wade can cover so much ground when he makes that move.
As you know, he can go 20 feet with that spin move and get to the basket."
