A 60-year-old hospital patient in England died after highly flammable skin ointment on his face ignited when he tried to light a cigarette.
The unidentified man reportedly stepped outside onto a fire escape landing to smoke at the Doncaster Royal Infirmary in South Yorkshire. When he lit up for the cigarette he was suddenly turned into a fireball, The Telegraph reported.
He was rushed to another hospital in Sheffield, where he died of severe burns.
Officials refused to reveal the man's skin condition or what medicine had been applied to him. They said counseling would be made available to staff, patients and family members.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire police said, "An investigation has taken place, there appears to be no suspicious circumstances." A report will be prepared for the coroner.

イギリス在住の60歳の病院患者の男性が、タバコに火をつけようとした際に顔に塗った可燃性の高い皮膚軟膏に誤って引火、死亡するという事件が発生した。
伝えられるところによると、この身元不明の男性は、南ヨークシャーにあるダンカスター王立病院で、タバコを吸おうと火災避難場所に出たという。男性がタバコに火をつけたところ、突然火の玉のごとく燃え上がったと、テレグラフ紙は報じた。
男性はシェフィールドにある別の病院に搬送されたが、ひどい火傷により死亡した。

マジで怖いです。スキンクリームって保湿とかのためにアブラ系成分がふんだんに入ってるからな…。
タバコ吸う人は要注意です。
